James Nowak is a Republican attorney and perennial candidate based in Toledo, Ohio. He earned both his Bachelor of Education (1973) and his Juris Doctor (1976) from the University of Toledo. Professionally, he has served as an attorney and has been active in his local community, holding leadership roles such as president, secretary, and treasurer of the Point Place Business Association, and serving as Council President for St. John the Baptist. Throughout his political career, Nowak has sought various offices at both the local and state levels. He has run multiple campaigns for the Toledo City Council, including bids in 1977, 1979, 2013, 2018, and most recently a special election in 2021. Additionally, he was a Republican candidate for District 45 of the Ohio House of Representatives in 2014 and 2016. As of his most recent filings, he has declared his candidacy for the Ohio State Senate District 11 primary scheduled for 2026.
