About
Judge Ronald C. Lewis is a state appeals judge currently serving on the Ohio Second District Court of Appeals. Appointed by Governor Mike DeWine in January 2022 to fill a vacancy, he was later named the President and Administrative Judge of the court for 2026. His judicial career also includes service as a Xenia Municipal Court Judge. Before ascending to the bench, Lewis spent two decades in public service as the Xenia City Law Director (2001–2016) and Xenia City Prosecutor (2000–2019), and he held various prosecutorial roles for several municipalities and law enforcement agencies in Greene County. A native of Xenia, Ohio, Lewis earned his undergraduate degree in Business from Ohio Northern University in 1990 and his Juris Doctor from the Ohio Northern University School of Law in 1993. Early in his career, he clerked for Ohio Supreme Court Justice Alice Robie Resnick and worked as an assistant to a Chief Legal Counsel in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. He also practiced law privately with the firm Wolaver, Lewis and Tornichio. Aside from his legal work, Lewis has been deeply involved in community organizations, serving on the boards of the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce and the Xenia Rotary Club. Lewis is a candidate for the Republican nomination for the Ohio Supreme Court in the 2026 election cycle. In August 2025, he withdrew his name from consideration for the Ohio Republican Party's formal endorsement to avoid party division, though he expressed his intention to remain in the primary race. He resides on his family's farm in Xenia with his wife and four children.
